Welcome!
I'm Roger, and I built this after living through the thing it's meant to fix. If you're lying awake doing math on money you don't have, or you've put off something big because debt made the risk feel too expensive, you're in the right place.
It started with a few unplanned expenses, then a stack of credit card bills, then a quiet feeling that this wasn't how things were supposed to go. I turned down opportunities and delayed decisions, including changing careers and starting a family, because the debt made every risk feel too big to take.
Debt isn't only a money problem. It stalls you. I stopped applying for jobs and starting new ventures, not because I couldn't, but because I was afraid of what failure would cost on top of what I already owed. It kept me from taking the risks I needed to take to actually grow.
Getting out didn't happen overnight. It started small:
- Learning personal finance for real, from books, blogs, and podcasts, instead of guessing.
- Finding mentors and friends who'd been through it and would say so honestly.
- Setting goals I could actually hit, and noticing when I hit them.
None of it was really about the money. It was about getting my decisions back.
I've spent the last ten years working in software, solving problems by breaking them down and building something structured to fix them. This is that instinct pointed at the debt I used to carry: the tool I wish I'd had.
It's still early. I'll keep changing it as I learn what actually helps, and I'll say so here when I do, along with what's working and what isn't.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're not behind. You're just mid-story, and the way out is smaller and more boring than it looks from the middle of it: face the number, make a plan, keep going.
Questions, feedback, or you just want to say the number finally moved? Reach out. I read all of it.
